Canoeing
This northern expanse of pristine wilderness is ten thousand and five hundred square kilometers and is located only three hundred and eighty kilometers north of Toronto on Highway 11. A great deal of this region is crown land. Within Temagami's boundaries are many parks including Lady Evelyn Smoothwater Wilderness Park, the Sturgeon and Obabika River Waterway Parks, Solace Provincial Park, and Grays-Makobe Provincial Park. Hiking

Fishing
Fishing in Temagami is a big story (but not as big as the one that got away!). Most area lakes contain some combination of lake trout, walleye (pickerel), smallmouth bass, northern pike and whitefish. Splake, rainbow trout and speckled trout are also found in some lakes and rivers. While the lake trout and walleye fisheries have attracted the attention of anglers throughout the world, less attention has been paid to bass, pike and whitefish fisheries.
